I have an HP Neverstop Laser 1001NW, and am not able to access the EWS server, since I have forgotten the password, which I set more than a year ago. Therefore, I want to rest the printer to the factory defaults to then set a new password for the EWS interface.
I have gone through the solutions that I could find online, and pressing and holding the wifi and cancel buttons does not reset it. Neither does trying the various default permutations of admin username.
The only credible solution that I can find suggested online is that a member of HP support staff contacts me and provides information on how to do this -- could someone please help? Thank you!

Hi @MacManus,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer.
Kindly refer to the steps on this link to perform a factory reset.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Many thanks for your message -- unfortunately none of the methods in the link 'Restore factory defaults on your HP printer' work with the HP Neverstop Laser 1001nw.
- HP Smart App. When I select the printer in either the iOS or macOS app, no 'Settings' / 'Advanced Settings' options are available.
- Printer Control Panel. The Neverstop Laser 1001nw does not appear to be listed on this page.
- Embedded Web Server. This requires a password which I do not have -- hence the need to reset to factory defaults.
Please could you send me instructions for this specific model (i.e. HP Neverstop Laser 1001nw), as the instructions in your post do not apply to this printer. Many thanks!
