Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you've changed your Wi-Fi name and password, the HP Smart Tank 510 series needs to be reconnected to your new network.
Here's a clear set of steps to help you resolve this:
1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings
To clear the old Wi-Fi settings:
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on your printer for 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
- This resets the network settings on the printer.
2. Reconnect to the New Wi-Fi Network
You can use one of the following methods:
Via HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart App on your smartphone or computer.
- Tap + (Add Printer) and search for your printer.
- Select the printer and follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to the new Wi-Fi network. You will be prompted to enter the new Wi-Fi name and password.
Via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) (if your router supports it)
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
- The printer will automatically connect to your network.
3. Verify Connection
Once reconnected:
- Print a Network Configuration or Wireless Test report from your printer. You can do this by pressing the Information button (or holding it for 3 seconds).
- Ensure that the network name matches your new Wi-Fi name.
4. Troubleshoot HP Smart App Connection
If the app still doesn’t recognize the printer:
- Close and reopen the HP Smart App.
- Ensure your device is on the same network as the printer.
- If needed, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App to refresh its connection.
