Hi @TROD58,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Resetting your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer to its factory default settings can help resolve various issues by restoring the printer to its original state. Here’s how you can perform a factory reset:

Important Notes

  • Network Settings: A factory reset will erase all network settings, so you will need to reconfigure your wireless or wired network settings after the reset.
  • Personal Data: This reset will also remove any saved fax numbers, preferences, and other personalized settings.
  • Firmware: The factory reset does not affect the printer's firmware. If you have updated the firmware, it will remain the same.

Factory Reset Procedure

Turn on the Printer:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on.

Access the Printer's Menu:

  • On the printer's control panel, touch the Home button to access the main menu.

Open Settings:

  • From the main menu, navigate to and touch the Setup button (this might look like a gear icon).

Open Printer Maintenance:

  • Scroll through the setup menu and select Printer Maintenance.

Restore Factory Defaults:

  • In the Printer Maintenance menu, scroll and select Restore.
  • Then select Restore Factory Defaults.
  • You will be prompted to confirm that you want to restore the printer to factory default settings. Confirm the action.

Restart the Printer:

  • The printer will restart automatically. If it doesn’t, turn it off and then turn it back on manually.

Additional Steps if Needed

If the above steps do not reset the printer or if the menu options differ slightly, you can try the following method:

Turn off the Printer:

  • Ensure the printer is powered off.

Disconnect the Power Cord:

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.

Wait for 60 Seconds:

  • Wait for about one minute to allow any residual power to drain.

Reconnect the Power Cord:

  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.

Turn on the Printer:

  • Power the printer back on.

Access Support Menu:

  • Once the printer is on, tap the back button (arrow icon) four times quickly to open the support menu.

Navigate to the Reset Menu:

  • In the support menu, navigate to and select Reset Menu.
  • Select Partial Reset or Semi-Full Reset (these options can vary).

By following these steps, you should be able to reset your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer to its factory default settings.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
