HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer

Restoring printer capability after wifi name and password change for use of HP Desk Jet 2755e? It was working fine with last name and password. I suspect I need to delete the previous info (name & password) from automatic logon before it will work again but have no idea how to do this?

Hi @Jacko1323,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Yes, changing the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password can cause the HP DeskJet 2755e to lose its previous wireless connection. You do not need to manually delete the old Wi-Fi password from the printer or computer. The correct approach is to restore the printer's Wi-Fi setup mode and then add the printer again using the HP app.

Please follow these steps in this order.
1. Connect to your new Wi-Fi
Make sure your computer or mobile device is connected to the new Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.

2. Reset the printer's Wi-Fi setup
On the HP DeskJet 2755e:

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Press the Cancel button once.
  3. Press and hold the Wireless button and Cancel button together for about 5 seconds
  4. Release both buttons when the Power button starts blinking.
  5. Wait about 60 seconds
  6. The blue Wireless light should begin blinking

This restores Wi-Fi setup mode and removes the printer's previous wireless connection information.

3. Install or open the HP app: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site

4. Add the printer again
In the HP app:

  1. Select Add Printer or +
  2. Allow the app to search for the printer.
  3. Select your HP DeskJet 2755e
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. When prompted, select your new Wi-Fi network
  6. Enter the new Wi-Fi password
  7. Wait for the setup to finish.

Once completed, the printer should show as Ready/Connected in the HP app.

5. Test the printer
Print a test page from the HP app. If printing works, the new Wi-Fi connection has been successfully restored.

If the printer is not detected, repeat the Wi-Fi setup-mode reset above, wait for the blue Wireless light to blink, and then immediately return to the HP app and select Add Printer: Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer | HP® Support

You do not need to manually delete the old Wi-Fi password from your computer. Resetting the printer's Wi-Fi setup mode and adding it again through the HP app is the correct way to reconnect the DeskJet 2755e after changing your Wi-Fi name or password.
