My S23 Ultra cant find the printer. Both on same network. Other phones, tablet and laptops are connected easily through same network.

Hi @Thymewarp

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having trouble getting your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to connect to your HP OfficeJet 7520 printer via the HP Smart app. If both devices are on the same network, but the phone is unable to find the printer, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve this issue.

Steps to Troubleshoot HP Printer Connection with Samsung S23 Ultra:

1. Check Network Connection

Even though your phone and printer are on the same network, double-check that they are connected to the same Wi-Fi frequency (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz):

  • HP Printers often have issues connecting to 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks, so make sure the printer is connected to a 2.4 GHz network. Many routers have both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, and it's best to ensure both your phone and printer are connected to the 2.4 GHz band.
    • To check your printer’s Wi-Fi connection:
      • On the HP OfficeJet 7520, press the Wireless button on the printer's control panel to print a network configuration report. This will tell you which network the printer is connected to and if there are any connection issues.

2. Ensure Printer is Ready to Connect

Ensure that the printer's wireless feature is properly enabled and that the printer is idle (not busy or in a fault state):

  • On the HP OfficeJet 7520, go to the Wireless Settings or Network Setup menu and make sure Wireless is turned on.
  • If the printer is showing a blue Wi-Fi icon, that means it's connected to the network.

3. Restart the Printer and Phone

Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve connectivity issues:

  • Restart the Printer: Turn the printer off and unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart the Phone: Restart your Samsung S23 Ultra to clear any potential network or app issues.

4. Update the HP Smart App

Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your phone:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
