I had been using my printer (10yrs old?) on my home network (Windows 11, eero router) for over a year when it dropped offline a few months ago. Since I don't print that much I did not start troubleshooting until a few weeks ago.
I was able to get a network connection when I turned on the printer's IPv6 (it had been off).
The location in the Windows Printer Properties shows: http://[fe80::32cd:a7ff:fe1d:57ac%21]:8018/wsd
The model shows: Samsung B/W Laser PCL6 Bi-di Class Driver
If I turn off the IPv6 it will connect to the network with a IPv4 address but my laptop will not recognize it as a printer.
I have the most recent firmware and the Samsung driver off the Windows 11 support page.
The issue is that when I send a print job I have to reboot (pull the power cord) the printer.
If I send two print jobs I have to reboot in between.
When I look at the window print queue I can see the job going to the printer then it just hangs until I pull the printer power cord. I have tried to start/stop the windows print spooler with no effect, still have to reboot printer to print one job.
The USB connection works fine, but is extremely inconvenient.
It seems to me that the printer is not communicating to the laptop to clear the print queue.
I have not changed any of the port settings in the Printer Network connections other than enable on/off.
Sidenote: My wife's iPad does not find the printer (Airprint is enabled) but her iPhone does! My Android with the Samsung Print Service PlugIn works fine.
At one point I did uninstall all the Samsung software and used the "Restore Default Network Settings".
I did have to use the USB connection to re-install the printer and then reconnect to the wifi.
Any suggestions would be appreciated...
