Product: HP 8600 911A
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

With Norton Secure VPN enabled I cannot see the PC from the scan to PC option on the printer,  Windows scan to print cannot communicate, HP smart shows a communication error.  Prints fine from the PC.  Control panel can see the printer.  Turning off the VPN all functions and apps work no problems.  Norton VPN has an option to exclude certain apps from the VPN.  Can you tell me which apps to exclude from the VPN so that they remain local and not tunnelled through the VPN?

I believe the answer to your question is HPScan.exe. On my PCs, it's located here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8600\bin\HPScan.exe".

 

However, I tried specifying this in "Split Tunnel", but I still cannot access the scanner via my LAN with the Norton VPN on.

 

Anyone else have ideas about this?

 

It's a real pain to have to turn off the Norton VPN to scan because then the VPN will not connect again without rebooting the PC.
