New wireless router (Xfinity) has security type WPA3-Personal while the printer shows WPA2-psk.  Wireless test report fails on the security line.  Would this be the reason that I can no longer connect the printer to the network?   If so, is there a fix?

Hi @Sgpowell56,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration with the issue you're experiencing with your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw If your printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink, but it's still showing the error that the cartridge cannot print, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  1. Check Your HP Instant Ink Account:
    • Make sure your HP Instant Ink subscription is active and properly linked to your printer. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account to verify the printer's status.
  2. Update Firmware:
    • Check if there is a firmware update available for your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw
    • . Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues with Instant Ink cartridges.
  3. Reinstall Instant Ink Cartridges:
    • Try removing the Instant Ink cartridges and then reinserting them into the printer. Ensure that they are securely and correctly installed.
  4. Restart the Printer:
    • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a minute and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the printer's settings.
  5. Check Wireless Connection:
    • If you suspect that the 5GHz network might be causing issues, you can try connecting your printer to the 2.4GHz network. You will need to access your router's settings to disable the 5GHz network temporarily during the printer setup.
  6. Factory Reset:
    • If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a factory reset on your printer. Please note that this will reset all settings on the printer, and you'll need to set it up again, including enrolling it in HP Instant Ink.

A WiFi authentication error could be to blame. This problem is often caused by:

  • Airplane mode. You’ve traveled recently, and you’ve ensured your phone won’t connect while you’re in flight. Many devices allow you to turn WiFi back on even while in airplane mode, but the standard airplane mode settings will turn it off.
  • Poor connectivity. Your WiFi router is far away or overloaded, so you can’t push your way in.
  • Software updates. You’ve made changes to keep your device secure, but they are interfering with your WiFi connection.

Keep in mind that these steps are general suggestions, and the specific instructions may vary depending on your printer's model and the Instant Ink service.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
