I can no longer print pdfs from my iphone. I get error 49. Other files can be easily printed via AirPrint. The print was still working 3 weeks ago. The error also occurs with older IOS versions.

Hi @Chessna,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A "Service Error 49" on an HP LaserJet 200 ColorMFP M276nw printer indicates a firmware communication error. This error code often appears when there is an issue with the printer's firmware, which is the software that controls the printer's functions and operations.
To resolve the "Service Error 49," you can try the following steps.
Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and see if the error persists.
Update Firmware: Visit HP's official website and check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model. Download the latest firmware and follow the instructions provided by HP to update the printer's firmware.
Clear Print Queue: If you're trying to print a specific PDF file using AirPrint, there may be an issue with the file itself. Clear the print queue on your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, etc.) and then try printing the PDF again.
Check Network Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the network, and your iOS device is also connected to the same network. Unstable or interrupted network connections can sometimes cause communication errors.
Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that a factory reset will erase any custom settings or configurations, so you might need to set up the printer again.
Here's how you can perform a factory reset on the HP LaserJet 200 ColorMFP M276nw printer.
- From the printer's control panel, touch the "Setup" button.
- Scroll to "Service," and then select "Restore Defaults."
- Select "Restore Factory Settings."
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
