Printer will not respond to HTTP. Trying to configure this printer for DHCP using app HP Smart. App complains, "Can't open printer home or EWS page. This feature is not available.", when selecting "printer settings" -> "advanced settings". Can't find any other possible way to make this change.
Interesting that app reports an address on wired network under "wireless" on "network information" tab but no address under "Ethernet". Printer does respond to ping at the wired address and is not visible on wifi.

Hi @t0061633,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding configuring IP network settings via EWS!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Configure IP Network Settings via EWS
Access the EWS Using Network IP:
- First, ensure your printer is connected to your network.
- Obtain the current IP address of your printer by printing a network configuration report or checking the printer’s display panel.
- Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network.
- Type the IP address of the printer into the browser's address bar and press Enter.
Access Network Settings:
- Once the EWS page loads, click on the Network tab to view network settings.
Set DHCP:
- Under the network settings, make sure the option for DHCP is selected so that it allows automatic assignment of IP addresses.
Troubleshooting Steps if EWS is Unreachable
Verify Network Connections:
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your wired or wireless network.
- Check cables and network settings to make sure no errors are present.
Restart Devices:
- Restart the printer and the computer or device you are using to access the EWS.
Direct Connection Using IP Address:
- If HP Smart app fails, use the direct connection method to access EWS through the printer's IP address as mentioned above.
Firmware Update:
- Make sure your printer firmware is up to date as older versions may present connectivity issues.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. But as I reported initially, this printer does not respond to HTTP. When I try to access using it's IP address using either Firefox or Chrome, there is no response. I can get to the printer using HP Smart but then I get the error message I reported above. Note, NMAP reports the printer with the following TCP ports:
PORT STATE SERVICE
80/tcp open http
443/tcp open https
515/tcp open printer
631/tcp open ipp
8080/tcp open http-proxy
9100/tcp filtered jetdirect

Hi @t0061633,
Thank you for the update.
Here's how you can try setting DHCP on the HP Smart Tank 7600 when the EWS (Embedded Web Server) is not loading properly through the browser, even though ports like 80/443 are open.
Set DHCP from Printer Control Panel (if accessible)
On the printer touchscreen:
Tap the Wi-Fi or Ethernet icon depending on the connection type.
Select Settings > Advanced Settings or Network Settings.
Look for TCP/IP Settings or IP Address Configuration.
Set it to Automatic (DHCP) instead of Manual or Static.
Save changes and restart the printer.
Reset Network Settings to Default (Forcing DHCP)
From the printer control panel:
Tap Settings > Network Setup.
Scroll down to find Restore Network Settings or Restore Defaults.
Confirm the reset.
What this does:
It clears static IP settings and sets the printer back to DHCP mode by default.
Force Access to EWS via HTTPS
Since NMAP shows port 443 (HTTPS) open, try:
Use HTTPS instead of HTTP:
In your browser, enter:
https://[your printer's IP]
If you get a certificate warning, proceed anyway (click Advanced > Proceed).
Then follow:
Network > IPv4 or IP settings > Set to DHCP.
Firmware Update via HP Smart App
Sometimes network bugs block EWS access until a firmware update:
Open HP Smart App.
Go to Printer Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings > Check for Firmware Update.
Install any available updates.
Reboot and try accessing EWS again.
Use Static IP Temporarily to Access EWS
If you're okay doing this:
Assign a static IP to your PC in the same subnet.
Example: If the printer's IP is 192.168.1.100, set your PC to 192.168.1.101.
Try accessing EWS via:
http://192.168.1.100 or https://192.168.1.100
Change printer IP settings to DHCP and reboot.
I hope this helps.
