Hi @Mznina,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the error code "UA_400_EB000U0422" you're encountering during the setup of your HP DeskJet 4100e All-in-One Printer series on WiFi could be related to network connectivity or configuration issues.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Restart All Devices
- Turn off your printer, router, and computer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn on your router first.
- Once your router is fully operational, turn on your printer and computer.
2. Check WiFi Connection
- Make sure your WiFi network is working properly and that you are using a 2.4 GHz network, as some HP printers may not connect to 5 GHz networks.
- Ensure your printer and computer are connected to the same network.
3. Update HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Ensure you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app for the setup.
- If you're using an older version, update it from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store (iOS).
4. Printer Reset
- Restore the printer to default network settings:
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds. The Wireless light should start blinking, indicating that the network settings have been reset.
5. Manual Wireless Setup via HP Smart HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)
- Open the HP Smart app and select the Add Printer option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to manually connect the printer to your WiFi network.
6. Temporary Disable Security Software
- If you are using any firewall or antivirus software, temporarily disable it during the setup process, as it may interfere with the connection.
7. Reinstall the HP Smart App
- If the error persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app to ensure a clean installation.
8. Try WPS Setup (If Supported)
- If your router supports WPS (WiFi Protected Setup), you can try connecting the printer using this method:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for 3 seconds (until the wireless light starts blinking).
- Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
- The printer should connect to the network automatically.
