Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have an officer pro 9110b. Have hated this printer from the start.  I sign in and 5 min later I have to sign in again. Printing is another fiasco. Sometimes I can find it on my WiFi and use that directly or sometimes it may just show up on AirPrint, but getting to those stages can be a long process when all I want to do is print a page. I’m  good with tech but when you tell me to create a 2.4 ghz this and change “that” on the app that rarely sees my printer (I’ve set up numerous times) and when its set up in the app, the app doesn’t work right! Can make tv’s and game consoles work consistently but an HP I’m so done. Bought another HP printer for my mom and all it has are a few light up buttons and everything has to go thru the app..the app that doesn’t work 75% of the time. Do better HP

Hi @ASelsing71

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating experience with your OfficeJet Pro 9110b. Requiring frequent sign-ins and inconsistent printer discovery through Wi‑Fi or AirPrint is not the experience we want customers to have. We'd like to help identify whether the issue is related to the printer's network connection, HP Smart app, firmware, or router configuration. Please provide the devices you print from (iPhone, Mac, Windows PC, etc.), your router model, and whether the printer remains connected to Wi‑Fi when it disappears from the app. We can then suggest steps such as assigning a static IP, updating firmware, and checking network setting.

Confirm the printer's network status

  • On the printer, print a Network Configuration Report.
  • Verify:
    • Printer is connected to Wi‑Fi.
    • It has a valid IP address (for example, 192.168.1.xxx).
    • Signal strength is good.

Test printer connectivity directly

  • From a phone or computer on the same network:
    • Open a browser.
    • Enter the printer's IP address.
  • If the printer's Embedded Web Server opens:
    • The printer is on the network.
    • The problem is likely HP Smart, AirPrint discovery, or the computer's printer configuration.

Assign a reserved/static IP

A common cause of printers "disappearing" is changing IP addresses.

  • Log into your router.
  • Find DHCP Reservation / Address Reservation.
  • Reserve the printer's current IP address using its MAC address.
  • Restart the printer.

Update firmware

  • Open the printer's web page (using its IP address).
  • Check for firmware updates.
  • Install any available updates.
  • Reboot the printer afterward.

Remove and re-add the printer

On the affected device:

  • Delete all existing instances of the printer.
  • Restart the device.
  • Add the printer again using:
    • IP address (preferred)
    • AirPrint (for Apple devices)

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
