After changing to a Rogers Ignite 150 modem/router, my HP Smart Tank 6001 will not stay active and connected to the new wifi network.
Steps taken so far:
- separated the new stronger wifi signals into separate 2.4 and 5 ghz channels. Connected laptops/smartphones to 2.4 which is most compatible with HP Smart app and HP Smart Tank 6001
- opened the HP Smart app and tried to add the printer (10 failed times)
- followed the HP 6001 quick start guide instructions to make the printer visible so that it could be paired (10 failed attempts)
- followed instructions to reset the printer back into 'Setup Mode' (10 failed attempts)
- spend 1.5 hours on the phone to Shaw/Rogers technical support (no tangible solution after resetting the modem)
- Logged into Shaw Gateway to see technical settings for modem. Error log shows that a firewall is preventing the printer from connecting to the Shaw/Rogers wifi network
Can anyone suggest a workaround so that I can establish a reliable Wifi connection through HP Smart app to HP Smart Tank 6001printer please?
