Suddenly unable to print.. I button flashing...report stating printer not connected to internet, wifi turned off.

Have been through the reset printer routine a couple of times but blue wifi light does not appear after printer is reset.

Same wifi used by phone, PC and television and all working fine

All on Broadband, no router.

Can a printer develop a problem that will not allow it to connect to wifi that cannot be fixed?

In other words is my printer terminally ill and I need to buy a new one?

Hi @Midget1949,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When a printer suddenly cannot connect to Wi-Fi, while other devices on the same network function correctly, this could attribute to several potential issues. Here's how to troubleshoot and possibly resolve these Wi-Fi connection issues with your HP printer:

Check Wi-Fi Settings:

  • Ensure the Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid blue, indicating an active connection.

  • If the light isn’t on, navigate to your printer’s settings via the control panel and ensure Wi-Fi is enabled.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer, your PC/phone, and any other connected devices.
  • Power down the entire network by turning off the Broadband device for about one minute, then turn everything back on, restarting the Broadband device first.

Run Wireless Network Test:

  • Use the printer’s control panel to print a Wireless Network Test report. This will offer diagnostics and potential solutions for Wi-Fi connection issues.

Check Network Settings:

  • Ensure your HP printer is connected to the same network that your other devices are using.

  • Using a network configuration page, confirm the IP address and settings match the network settings used by other devices.

Move Printer Closer to Network Device:

  • Wi-Fi signals can be weakened by physical barriers. Try relocating your printer closer to your Wi-Fi broadcasting device if possible.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads and look for any available firmware updates for your printer model. Keeping firmware current can resolve many connectivity issues.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings:

  • If none of the above works, you may need to run the Wireless Setup Wizard available in the printer’s settings, selecting your network from the available list, and entering the necessary passphrase.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
