Hi @Hshdbfbf,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I know how frustrating it is when your HP printer suddenly stops working on your Android phone, especially when it still works fine on your Mac and iPad. That’s a great clue: it means the printer is online and functional, but your Android device has lost connection, likely due to a network or app issue.
Let’s walk through the steps to fix this:
1. Reconnect Android to the Same Wi-Fi Network
- Make sure your Android phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- If you recently changed networks or passwords, reconnect manually.
2. Restart Devices
- Restart your Android phone, printer, and Wi-Fi router.
- This clears temporary network glitches.
3. Reinstall HP Smart App
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your HP Smart – Apps on Google Play phone.
- Open the app and tap “+” to add your printer again.
4. Reset Printer Network Settings (if needed)
If the printer’s IP address changed or was lost:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer for 5 seconds to reset network settings.
- Reconnect the printer using the HP Smart app.
5. Use WPS (if supported)
If your router has a WPS button:
- Press the WPS button on the router.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it blinks rapidly.
- Wait for the light to turn solid. This means it’s connected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
