Hi @Clovisgsa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 5530 is not printing after changing the ink cartridges, but it can still scan and copy, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check Ink Cartridges Installation: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Sometimes, cartridges may not be seated correctly, leading to printing issues. Remove and reinsert the cartridges to make sure they are properly in place.
  • Verify Ink Levels: Check the ink levels to ensure that the cartridges are not empty. Some printers may not print if the ink levels are critically low. You can usually check the ink levels through the printer's software interface or on the printer's control panel.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Sometimes, dirt or residue on the cartridge contacts can prevent proper communication between the cartridge and the printer. Turn off the printer, remove the cartridges, and gently clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water. Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.
  • Perform Printer Self-Test: Most printers have a self-test or diagnostic page function. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to print a self-test page. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or the connection to your computer.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Try restarting both the printer and your computer. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve communication issues between the devices.
  • Reset Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

If you've tried all of these steps and your HP Envy 5530 still isn't printing, it's possible that there may be a more serious hardware issue with the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
