Hi @Jimbo740,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re dealing with a malfunctioning "I" button on your HP DeskJet 2755, which is preventing you from accessing the printer’s settings to retrieve or reset your password. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn Off and Unplug: Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug In and Power On: Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset minor hardware glitches.

2. Check for Obstructions

  • Inspect Paper Path: Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the paper path or printer mechanisms that could be causing the blank paper issue.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Look for any paper jams or crumpled paper inside the printer.

3. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Hold Down Power Button: Turn off the printer and then hold down the power button while you unplug the printer.
  • Wait and Reconnect: Continue holding the power button while you plug the printer back in, then release the power button once the printer turns on.

4. Use HP Smart App

  • Install HP Smart App: If you haven’t already, install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. The app can help manage printer settings and connections.
  • Connect via App: Open the app and follow the prompts to connect your printer. It might help you access or reset network settings without needing the "I" button.

5. Reset Network Settings

  • Use the HP Smart App: If the app is able to detect your printer, you may be able to reset network settings directly through the app.
  • Manual Reset: Sometimes, you can reset the network settings by holding down certain buttons on the printer, but this varies by model. Check your printer’s manual for any specific reset instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
