HP Neverstop Laser 1000n

Hello!

I need some help.

I’m trying to connect my HP Neverstop 1000n printer to a MacBook with M1.

  • I’m using a USB-C → USB-A adapter (the adapter works fine).

  • macOS detects the printer, but I can’t find a suitable driver.

  • Couldn’t find any macOS drivers for this model on HP’s website.

  • AirPrint doesn’t work either.

Is there maybe a universal driver or a workaround for this issue? Has anyone faced the same problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @ocean59

The HP Neverstop 1000n is not officially listed as macOS-compatible, so a full HP driver probably doesn’t exist. Here’s what you can try

Use HP Easy Start (HP’s driver/setup utility) to see if a compatible driver shows up.
• Go to the HP Neverstop 1000 series driver page to check for new updates or firmware.
• Use macOS’s inbuilt or Generic PCL/PostScript driver when adding the printer via System Settings → Printers & Scanners. HP’s guide on built-in macOS print drivers is here: HP support doc.
• If nothing works, you’ll likely only get basic printing functionality (no advanced features).
