Hi @JEBKENN,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the touchscreen on your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e stays lit all the time, this could be due to a setting issue or a potential software glitch. Here are a few steps to try and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Auto-Dimming Settings:
- Some HP printers have an auto-dimming feature that dims the screen after a certain period of inactivity.
- On the touchscreen, navigate to Settings > Display Settings or similar options, and see if there's an Auto-Dimming or Sleep Mode option that is turned off or set to a long delay.
2. Reset the Printer:
- Perform a soft reset by turning the printer off, unplugging it for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on. This can sometimes help resolve screen issues caused by minor software glitches.
3. Update the Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Go to Settings > Printer Update > Check for Updates to ensure that your printer is using the latest software. This might resolve any touchscreen-related bugs.
4. Touchscreen Calibration:
- Check if your printer has a Touchscreen Calibration option in the settings. If available, recalibrating might help resolve the issue if it's related to touchscreen sensitivity.
5. Restore Factory Defaults:
- If none of the above work, you can try restoring your printer to its factory settings. This can help if there’s an underlying software or settings issue causing the touchscreen to stay lit. To reset, go to Settings > Restore Defaults (or a similar option) and follow the prompts.
Let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
