Hello! I recently got Starlink internet and I am having trouble setting up my HP Deskjet 2600 series printer to the WiFi now in order to use my computer.
The blue internet button is flashing , indicating it’s ready to set up, but will not connect. The HP app can’t find the printer nor will it let me manually add it.
I would appreciate any help, or suggestions. Thank you!

@mar4890, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 2600 series printer to your new Starlink Wi-Fi. Let's walk through the steps to get your printer connected.
Reset the Printer’s Network Settings
This ensures the printer forgets any old Wi-Fi configurations.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel (X) button on the printer together for 5 seconds.
- The Wi-Fi light will start blinking, indicating it's in setup mode.
Use HP Smart App to Set Up
Make sure you're using the latest version of the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
- Download or update the app from - HP Smart
- Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.
- Click “+” to Add Printer.
- The app should detect your printer in setup mode. If not:
- Ensure your phone/PC is connected to the Starlink Wi-Fi.
- Enable Bluetooth and Location Services on your phone (if using mobile).
- Try moving the printer closer to the Starlink router.
Manually Add the Printer (if not auto-detected)
If the app still doesn’t find the printer:
- Tap “Set Up a New Printer” in HP Smart.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Starlink Wi-Fi.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Print a Wireless Network Test Report
To confirm connection:
- Press the Information (i) button and the Wi-Fi button together.
- A report will print showing the connection status.
Additional Tips
- Starlink Routers may use 5GHz Wi-Fi, but the DeskJet 2600 supports only 2.4GHz. Ensure your Starlink router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal. You may need to split the bands or enable dual-band mode in the Starlink app.
- Temporarily disable mobile data on your phone during setup to avoid conflicts.
