Have three HP printers  a 6010 and two 2632s I would like to set these up on the same internet network at home in different parts of the house with their own names Ie lounge, spare room, upstairs etc .  How do I do this so each printer is recognized individually and don’t clash on the network ?  Any help and guidance appreciated

PS : The OS would be windows ten x 2  IPhone 12 x 2 and IPads x2

Thank you for your support , unfortunately it didn’t seem to work for me as per the instructions , but did manage to get them sorted by going the USB route to enable recognition and configuration   In all cases each set up was different , and it took a good couple of hours to sort  some asked passwords others PIN numbers , others had to use the configuration support software  to resolve connection issues . Anyway , I did manage to get sorted in the end and couldn’t have done it without the initial prompts and guidance given by yourself  Thank you

Hi @Quovadis2895,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To set up your HP ENVY 6010 and two HP DeskJet 2632 printers on the same network with unique names for each, follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect Printers to the Network

  1. Turn on each printer.
  2. Connect each printer to your Wi-Fi network:
    • For the HP ENVY 6010:
      1. On the printer's control panel, go to the Wireless settings.
      2. Select "Wi-Fi Setup Wizard" and follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
    • For the HP DeskJet 2632:
      1. Press the "Wireless" button on the printer to start the WPS process.
      2. Press the WPS button on your router to establish a connection.

Step 2: Rename Each Printer

Install HP Smart App (if not already installed):

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your Windows 10 PCs and iOS devices from the Microsoft Store or App Store.

Rename the Printers via HP Smart App:

  1. Open the HP Smart app and add your printers.
  2. Select the printer you want to rename.
  3. Go to "Printer Settings" or "Advanced Settings."
  4. Look for an option to change the "Printer Name" or "Host Name."
  5. Rename the printer to a unique name such as "Lounge Printer," "Spare Room Printer," or "Upstairs Printer."
  6. Save the changes.

Step 3: Verify on Devices

  1. On Windows 10 PCs:
    • Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners."
    • Ensure each printer appears with its new name.
  2. On iOS Devices:
    • Go to "Settings" > "Wi-Fi" and ensure your devices are connected to the same network as the printers.
    • When printing, select the appropriate printer by its new name.

Step 4: Test Printing

  1. Print a test page from each device (PC, iPhone, iPad):
    • Ensure the correct printer with the unique name is selected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
