Hi @nick55551,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code -5 on HP printers usually indicates a communication issue between the printer and the connected devices. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Restart Your Devices:
- Turn off your printer, smartphone, and router.
- Wait for a minute, and then turn them back on.
- Attempt to connect again.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that both your printer and your mobile phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Verify that the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your HP DeskJet 2752e. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware if available.
Reinstall HP Smart App:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your mobile phone.
- Reinstall the latest version from your device's app store.
- Open the app and try connecting to the printer again.
Reset Printer Network Settings:
- On your printer, go to the Settings menu.
- Navigate to the Network or Wireless settings.
- Choose the option to reset network settings.
- Set up the Wi-Fi connection again on your printer.
Check for Interference:
- Make sure there are no other electronic devices causing interference with the Wi-Fi signal.
- Place the printer and the router closer together to improve the signal strength.
Connect Manually:
- On your mobile phone, go to Wi-Fi settings.
- Manually connect to your printer's Wi-Fi network (it usually has the printer's name in it).
- Open the HP Smart app and try connecting again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
