Can't connect HP Deskjet 3050 J610 to our home WiFi. when I try to do it on HP Smart on PC it tells me the error is that the printer is hooked up via a ethernet cable. It is NOT, just a USB cable that came with the printer. it says it's online, recognizes the network but won't connect.

Also while trying to add the same printer to mobile HP Smart, I'm told to use HP Setup under WiFi in my iPhones settings, but it doesn't come up in the list

Hi @DINNY8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're trying to set up your HP Deskjet 3050 J610 printer to connect to a wireless network but you're getting a message that it's connected to an Ethernet cable, it's possible that the printer is currently configured to use a wired connection and needs to be switched to wireless mode.

Here are the steps you can take to switch your HP Deskjet 3050 J610 printer from a wired to a wireless connection.

  • First, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the printer and your router.
  • Press the Wireless button on the printer control panel. This will launch the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your wireless network. You will need to enter your network name and password.
  • Once the printer is connected to your wireless network, you may need to install the printer software on your computer to enable printing over the network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
