Common problems for Connectivity Issues

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After changing internet providers and going from 2.4 to 5G, my printer initially was unable to locate my new network. I found info online saying the printer couldn't operate on a 5G network, so I went back to my 2.4 wireless connection. Now, the printer can see the network, but it will not accept the correct password, giving the message "Invalid WPA Passphrase". After getting that message, the options are "Continue anyways" or "Restore settings". No matter what I select, I still can no longer print wirelessly. The troubleshooter said the way to resolve this would be to install new firmware, but that didn't fix it. It's an older printer but it still works great other than no longer being able to print wirelessly. (If I can't resolve this, I won't purchase any more HP printers.)

Hi,

Please make sure the latest printer firmware (printer version) is installed, version 20190401.

From the Setup menu on the printer select Service, there click on Firmware Datecode and compare the current version, a later date indicate a later version.

If it is not up to date, temporary connect the printer with a USB cable or an Ethernet cable to the router and then try re-configuring its wireless connection and check for any difference:

If the same persists, make sure your router is updated to its latest version too and check if that may help, also verify you use a supported wireless encryption for your router, such as WPA2 (be aware that the printer does not support WPA3).
