Hi @KJM9654,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your printer's Wi-Fi connection, especially after previously having it resolved. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue further:
1. Check Network Settings on the Printer
- Access Network Settings:
- Use the printer’s control panel to navigate to Settings > Network or Wireless settings.
- Forget the Network: If your printer is trying to connect to a network, select the option to forget the existing Wi-Fi network, then reconnect.
2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Re-enter Wi-Fi Credentials: Try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network by entering the SSID and password again.
- Use WPS: If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), try using that method to connect:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- On the printer, select the WPS option in the Wi-Fi settings.
3. Power Cycle Devices
- Restart Your Printer: Turn off your printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
- Restart Your Router: Unplug your router for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
4. Update Firmware
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date:
- Check the printer settings for a firmware update option, or download the latest firmware from the HP support website.
5. Check Router Settings
- Change Wi-Fi Channel: Sometimes interference can cause connectivity issues. Log into your router settings and try changing the Wi-Fi channel.
- Frequency Band: Ensure your printer is compatible with the frequency band of your Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz). Try connecting to the 2.4 GHz band if available.
6. Reset Network Settings
- Factory Reset Network Settings:
- Go to Settings on the printer.
- Find the option to reset network settings to factory defaults.
7. Test with Another Device
- If possible, try connecting another device (like a phone or tablet) to the same Wi-Fi network to see if it can connect successfully. This can help identify if the issue is with the printer or the network.
8. Manual IP Configuration
- As a last resort, you can try setting a static IP address for the printer:
- Access the printer’s control panel.
- Go to Network Settings > TCP/IP and configure a static IP.
9. Use HP Smart App
- If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer. It can help with connecting the printer to the Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
