Hello, I’m having an issue and none of the guidance is helping at the moment.
My printer is connected via wifi. A few days ago my router was replaced, new network name, new password etc. i knew I would need to update my printer to point to the new network.
However today I am trying to do that and it’s just not working. So I am trying to connect to my printer’s own wifi network ‘DIRECT-E2-HP Laser 150nw’ and it asks for a password… which I don’t have.
I printed off a test page and it gives me a few options. Under wifi direct there is the pin number and the network key. I have entered both as the password and neither works. I’ve also tried the default password 12345678.
Is there somewhere else I should be looking or is the password listed under a different name (host name maybe?).
Thanks for any help you can offer.

@Paperchasing, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Refer printer's User manual for printer specific steps.
1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings
- Turn off your printer.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer.
- While holding the Wi-Fi button, turn the printer back on.
- Keep holding the Wi-Fi button until the light blinks quickly, indicating that the network settings have been reset.
This clears any old Wi-Fi credentials, allowing you to reconfigure the printer for the new network.
2. Reconfigure Printer Wi-Fi Setup
- Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer again (it should blink rapidly if it’s not already connected).
- Use the printer’s control panel to reconnect it to your new Wi-Fi.
Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app or the printer's web-based setup page (accessed via the printer's IP address) to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.
3. Check Your Router’s Compatibility
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is using the 2.4 GHz frequency, as the LaserJet P1102W may not be compatible with 5 GHz networks.
- If your new router is dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure the printer is connecting to the correct band.
