Hi @pavan71,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To unlock the admin menus on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer after it has been reset to factory settings, you typically need to perform a specific sequence of actions or access a hidden menu. Here’s a general guide that may help you regain access:
Access the Hidden Service Menu:
- Turn on your printer and wait until it is in the ready state.
- On the printer's control panel, press the right arrow to navigate to the setup menu (usually depicted by a wrench icon).
- Press the OK button to enter the setup menu.
- Now, depending on your printer model and firmware version, you may need to press a specific sequence of buttons to access the hidden service menu. Typically, this involves pressing a combination of buttons in quick succession. Some common sequences include pressing the Back button four times quickly, or pressing Back, Home, Back, Back in rapid succession.
Navigate to Admin Settings:
- Once you successfully access the service menu, navigate using the arrow keys to find an option related to administration or administrative settings.
- Look for options such as "Admin Menu," "Admin Settings," or "Advanced Settings."
Reset Admin Password (if necessary):
- If the admin menu requires a password and you don’t know it, you might need to perform a factory reset again. Ensure you have any necessary configuration details handy before proceeding with another reset.
Setup Wireless Connection:
- Once you're in the admin menu, look for the option to set up a wireless connection. This is typically found under network or wireless settings.
Save Changes:
- After making any necessary changes to the wireless settings, save and exit the menus.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

In the setup menu, every time I press the back button, it takes me back to the previous menu. No matter how quickly I press the button. I have tried back 4 times and back, home, back, back in quick succession. It’s not getting me to the hidden admin menu
