HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

Ref:

The question originally asked at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Wireless-Networking-Internet/Printer/m-p/8123797

The answer was "Press the power button". . .   Which really doesn't help as this is not intuitively obvious based on the design of most every other printer by any manufacturer I have owned.

On every HP printer I have owned up to this one, the power button is a part of the front panel display and on this printer there is no power button on the front panel which may lead people to decide that this printer cannot be turned off.

This printer DOES  have a power button, but:

  • it's on the BACK of the printer above the power cord and the WiFi reset button.
  • It's the exact same color as the rest of the printer, so it is almost impossible to see unless you have a lot of light shining on the back of the printer, and you're looking right at it.

My suggestion:  Get a black paint-stick or crayon and fill in the "power button" symbol on the button so that it's easier to find the next time you need it.

Suggestions to HP:

  1. The power button should be either a different color, or the symbol should be filled in with a contrasting color.
  2. The "HP Support Assistant" should be updated because as it is, it has no idea how to instruct people how to turn this printer off.

What say ye?

Thank you for providing valuable feedback and suggestions regarding the HP ENVY 6455e All-In-One Printer's power button. Your insights can be instrumental in improving user experience and preventing confusion. Here's a revised set of instructions along with your suggestions:

To turn off the HP ENVY 6455e All-In-One Printer:

  1. Locate the power button on the back of the printer, situated above the power cord and WiFi reset button.
  2. Note that the power button may be the same color as the rest of the printer, making it difficult to see without proper lighting and a direct line of sight.
  3. For improved visibility, consider using a black paint stick or crayon to fill in the power button symbol, making it easier to identify.

Color Contrast: Make the power button a different color or use a contrasting color for the power button symbol to enhance visibility.

HP Support Assistant Update: Update the HP Support Assistant to include clear instructions on how to turn off the HP ENVY 6455e, taking into account the unique placement of the power button.

I hope this helps.

I am not sure what you are trying to say.

Does this mean

  • This is the answer if people have this problem and search here?
  • You are asking HP to implement this idea?
  • Both?

Thanks!
