Hello I have a new Envy 6555e that is connected to my Win11 laptop. It shows as the default printer in Systems -Printers and Scanners. HP Smart shows it as connected and "ready" . It shows on my network.
However I can't get it to print anything. On the other hand I have HP Smart on my iPhone and I can print with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Btw I am in my 80s and not too adept at tech. MSACPACA

Hi @TheDuke65
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP Envy 6555e is properly connected but refusing to print from your Windows 11 laptop—frustrating, but let's get it sorted!
Troubleshooting Steps
Restart Print Spooler Service
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
- Try printing again.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP’s support page.
- Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix issues.
Check Default Printer Settings
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Ensure HP Envy 6555e is set as the default printer.
- If another printer is listed as default, change it.
Update Printer Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Printers, right-click your HP Envy 6555e, and select Update driver.
- Restart your laptop after updating.
Uninstall & Reinstall Printer
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click on your printer, select Remove device, then restart your laptop.
- Reinstall the printer using HP Smart or Windows Add Printer Wizard.
Try a Different Connection Method
- If using Wi-Fi, try connecting via USB cable to see if it prints.
- If USB works, the issue might be with the wireless connection.
Since your iPhone prints fine, the issue is likely Windows-related, not the printer itself. Try these steps and let me know how it goes! Happy to guide you through anything that feels tricky. 😊
