HP Recommended

I installed cartridges I purchased at Walmart. Canceled HP ink delivery because we hardly ever print.
1. Couldn’t figure out how to print alignment pages

2. Now an E, !, e-mail symbol, full ink symbols are all flashing along with I button. 
3. Went to printing shortcuts to reset to factory defaults but it and all other choices have little padlock symbol on them and won’t open. 
can anyone please advise?
