Hi please can someone help, I have urgent legal documents I need to print off. The hours I've spent trying to reconnect to the Internet also a friend tried. I have to give up on that...so here is my question...its an hp2600 desktop with ink included with offer available when I purchased. I use my android phone mostly but could try my chrome book. Can I do it without an Internet connection please...using some sort of cable? I've tried contacting hp but it's useless, I've followed all the steps to reset, I've followed you tube videos the instructions in the booklet. No joy, so I need other options please x

Hi @Sarahmaxine,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Absolutely, you can print documents without an internet connection by using a direct cable connection. Here’s how you can do it with your HP 2600 desktop printer:
Using a USB Cable:
Connect the Printer to Your Computer:
- Use a USB cable to connect your HP 2600 printer directly to your computer. This is the simplest method if you have a USB cable that fits both the printer and your computer.
Install the Printer Driver:
- If your computer doesn’t automatically recognize the printer, you may need to install the printer driver manually. You can usually find these drivers on HP’s official website or use the CD that came with the printer.
Set Up the Printer:
- Once the driver is installed, go to your computer’s Control Panel > Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners in Windows 10/11) and ensure that the printer is listed and set as the default printer.
Print Your Documents:
- Open the document you need to print, select Print from the application’s menu, and choose your HP 2600 printer as the printer to use.
Using Your Android Phone or Chromebook:
For Android Phone:
Download the HP Print Service Plugin:
- Go to the Google Play Store, search for "HP Print Service Plugin," and install it.
Connect via USB:
- You'll need an OTG (On-The-Go) cable that allows you to connect your phone to the USB cable attached to the printer.
- Once connected, the HP Print Service Plugin should recognize the printer.
Print Your Document:
- Open the document or image you want to print, tap on the three-dot menu, select Print, and choose your HP printer from the list.
For Chromebook:
Add Printer Manually:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers on your Chromebook.
- Click on Add Printer and select Add Manually.
Connect the Printer via USB:
- Connect the printer to your Chromebook using a USB cable. The Chromebook should recognize the printer.
Print Your Document:
- Open the document you want to print, click on the print icon, and select the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

The solution is too complicated for someone who was born in the 70's I don't understand it. What on earth is a driver?!! I'm just going to have to get a new printer....it won't be HP ever again! So upset there is no helpline to call so I can be talked through the trouble shooting step by step.
