HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
iOS

Greetings,

Hopefully I have selected the correct board for this issue.

My MFP M277dw, wifi connected,  running HP Smart on Mac OS 14.6.1 suddenly is having what seems like a buffering problem.

This started without warning or updates of any kind.  All HP recommended troubleshooting steps have been performed up to and including firmware update.  The unit eventually prints but takes a long time to do so, even between multiple sheets of the same print job. Time to print does vary with file size.  Most available information on this is applies to much older versions of iOS.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @BeanBurner

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with slow printing issues on your MFP M277dw. Here are some additional steps you can try to improve the printer's response time:

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is still connected to the Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, a weak connection can cause delays. Consider moving the printer closer to the router if possible.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your Mac. This can help refresh connections and clear temporary issues.

Reduce Print Quality Settings:

  • In the HP Smart app or the print dialog on your Mac, try reducing the print quality to see if it improves speed. Switching to draft mode can speed things up.

Check for Background Processes:

  • Make sure there aren’t any large print jobs stuck in the queue or other applications using significant resources on your Mac that might slow down the printing process.

Use USB Connection:

  • If the issue persists, try connecting your printer directly to your Mac using a USB cable. This can help determine if the problem is related to the Wi-Fi connection.

Reset Printing System:

  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers, and choose Reset printing system. This will remove all printers and reset the system, allowing you to add the printer back again.

Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app and then reinstall it from the Mac App Store. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
