Hi @Hazel55,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The blinking orange light on your HP LaserJet M209dwe printer usually indicates a network or hardware issue. Since your Wi-Fi button is also not working, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

Since the Wi-Fi button is unresponsive, let's reset the network settings manually:

  1. Turn on the printer and ensure it's in a ready state.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button (⏚ icon) and the Cancel button (X) together for 10 seconds.
  3. The Wi-Fi light should blink, indicating the network settings are reset.
  4. Now, try reconnecting your printer to Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app or WPS method.

2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi (Using HP Smart App)

  1. Download and open HP Smart on your PC or phone.
  2. Click on "Set up a new printer" and follow the instructions to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

💡 Note: If the HP Smart app cannot detect the printer, try using a USB cable temporarily for setup.

3. Hard Reset the Printer

If the orange light continues blinking after a network reset:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 2-3 minutes to clear any internal errors.
  3. Press and hold the Power button while plugging the printer back in.
  4. Keep holding the button for 15 seconds, then release.
  5. The printer should now reboot—check if the issue is resolved.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

If your printer still doesn’t connect:

  1. Go to HP Support.
  2. Enter your printer model (HP LaserJet M209dwe).
  3. Download and install firmware updates.

5. Factory Reset (If All Else Fails)

If nothing works, try a full factory reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button (⏚ icon) and Resume button (↻ icon) together.
  3. Turn on the printer while holding the buttons for 20 seconds.
  4. Release them when the printer reboots.

This should reset all settings, including Wi-Fi.

Let me know if you need more help! 😊
