HP Lasejet 200 color MFP

I have reset the printer but it still will not connect to the wireless network and does not accept our password.  When I print the wireless network test > it indicates about the WPA being changed.  I see there have been many issues with this from other post.

Hi @jminassian,

Thank you for your reply

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet 200 color MFP not connecting to the wireless network due to changes in WPA security settings, follow these steps:

Verify Network Credentials:

  • Ensure you are using the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Double-check for any typos or case sensitivity issues.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve connectivity issues. Download the latest firmware from the HP support website and follow the instructions to update your printer.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • Restore the printer's network settings to default. This can be done through the printer's control panel:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
    • Confirm the reset.

Reconfigure Wireless Connection:

  • After resetting, reconfigure the wireless connection:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Follow the prompts to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the correct password.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure that your router is set to use a compatible WPA version. Some printers have issues with WPA3 or mixed mode. If possible, set your router to use WPA2.
  • Verify that the router's MAC address filtering is not enabled or that your printer's MAC address is allowed.

Print Network Configuration Page:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer to check the current settings and ensure it shows the correct network details.
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Network Configuration Page.

Assign Static IP Address (Optional):

  • Sometimes assigning a static IP address to the printer can help with network stability:
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > TCP/IP Config.
    • Set it to Manual, then enter a static IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
