Hi @Helen203,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding connecting the HP DeskJet 4220e All-in-One Printer to a wireless network using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Push Button Method:

  1. Ensure your wireless router supports WPS and is powered on.
  2. Press the WPS button on your wireless router.
  3. On your printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the wireless light starts blinking. This typically takes about three seconds.
  4. The product will begin a timer for approximately two minutes during which the corresponding button on the networking device needs to be pressed.
  5. Once the connection is established, your device will be connected to the network.

PIN Method:

  1. Press the Wireless button on your printer to display the Wireless menu.
  2. Select WiFi Protected Setup from the printer display.
  3. Choose PIN Setup.
  4. The printer display will show a PIN. Enter this PIN on your wireless router or other networking device.
  5. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the setup if necessary.

I hope this helps.
