Hi @Michelle2431,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I can provide some general guidance on troubleshooting the Wi-Fi connection for your HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw printer. Please follow these steps.
Check Wi-Fi Settings on Printer:
- Make sure your printer is turned on.
- Navigate through the printer's menu to find the Wi-Fi settings.
- Check if the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Printer Network Information:
- Print a network configuration or status page from the printer. This page usually contains information about the current network settings.
- Verify that the network name (SSID) matches your Wi-Fi network.
Re-enter Wi-Fi Password:
- If the Wi-Fi password is not working, try re-entering it carefully. Ensure that you're using the correct password.
Restart Printer and Router:
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from power.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
- Wait for a minute and then plug in and turn on your printer.
Connectivity Issues:
- Check if there are any issues with your Wi-Fi network. Other devices should be able to connect without any problems.
- If possible, try connecting the printer to a different Wi-Fi network to isolate the issue.
Reset Network Settings:
- Some printers have an option to reset network settings. Refer to your printer's manual on how to do this. Keep in mind that this will reset all network settings, and you'll need to set them up again.
Remember to refer to your printer's manual for model-specific instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
