@Augie14, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're experiencing an issue where PDF is the only option showing when trying to print, even though your HP printer worked fine before. Let's get this sorted out!

Check Default Printer Settings

Sometimes, Windows sets "Microsoft Print to PDF" as the default printer.

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  2. In the Devices and Printers window, look for your HP printer.
  3. Right-click on your HP printer and select Set as default printer.
  4. Try printing again from your PDF viewer.

Reinstall or Update Printer Drivers

Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause this issue.

  1. Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  2. Enter your printer model and download the latest drivers.
  3. Install the drivers and restart your computer.

 Remove Unused PDF Printers (Optional)

To avoid confusion, you can remove or disable "Microsoft Print to PDF":

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on Microsoft Print to PDF and choose Remove device (if available).

Try Printing from Another App

Try printing from a different application (like Word or Notepad) to confirm if the issue is specific to your PDF viewer.

If you're using Adobe Acrobat Reader, ensure it's updated. You can also try printing using your browser or another PDF viewer like Foxit Reader.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
