HP Envy 120e
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I just replaced my HP all in one Envy 120e with the same one I had bought a few years ago as a backup.

I can't remember the HP Printer Claim Code and everywhere I go to look for it, I can't seem to find it.

I've followed all of the suggested ways of finding it, but I keep striking out.

Does anyone have a solution as to how I would find it? I did have one because I did use the wireless function away from home.

Now the HP Smart app keeps asking for it and I don't have it..

Thanks in advance for any help!

Steve

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are trying to print the printer claim code, I am glad to assist you.

To find your Printer Claim Code, print a Web Services Information page from the printer's built-in webpage.

  1. Send a test print job from any device on your network to make sure the printer is connected and can print.

    NOTE:

You cannot use Web Services or get your Printer Claim Code if your printer is not connected to your wireless network. A USB connection does not work.

  2. Type the printer IP address into a web browser on any device connected to your network to open the printer's built-in website.

To find your printer IP address:

    • From the touchscreen control panel: Touch the Wireless icon .

    • From the HP Smart app: Click Printer Settings, and then click Printer Information.

    • From the printed network report: Press the Information button to print an information page.

  3. From the printer website, find the Web Services menu, and then click Print Info Page or Print Information Sheet.

  4. Find the Printer Code or Printer Claim Code on the page that prints.

If the information page only has the printer's email address, remove and then re-enable Web Services. A new information page prints with the Claim Code.

  5. Add your printer to an HP Smart account using the Printer Claim Code.

If an Invalid Claim Code or other error message displays, remove and then re-enable Web Services before trying again.

Hi Sandy,

Thank you for answering my question about the printer claim code. I have tried several times and it did not work. I used to have an E print email address but I can’t seem to find it. It was the email address I got with the original HP Envy 120e printer.

That printer went bad after five years, and I had replaced it with the exact same one that I bought as a spare three years ago.
I went ahead and installed it, removed all the HP software from the computer, reloaded the software again from the HP website, deleted and reloaded the HP smart app and for some reason I can’t seem to get another claim code so I can e print when I’m away from home.
I had contacted an online help Center, and the end result was him telling me that my router was no good. They told me that it kept dropping, going in and out. I don’t believe it’s the router because Everything was working fine before the original HP Envy 120e went bad.

So can I contact HP and maybe they can look up my Claim Code e mail address or am I pretty much stuck just using the new spare 120 as a local printer?

Thanks again for the help and sorry for the long

reply.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
