HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer.  We upgraded our wifi to 5GHZ recently.  Now, I can't even get the printer to find the network.  I've unplugged the router and reset the network settings on my printer.  I type in the network name and it can't find it.

Hi @tracy357, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, which is why it can't detect your new 5GHz-only network. Here are a few solutions:

1. Enable 2.4GHz on Your Router

Most routers support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Check your router settings and enable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi if it's disabled.

2. Use a Dual-Band SSID

  • Some routers combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz under one name (SSID). Try renaming them separately (e.g., "MyWiFi-2.4GHz" and "MyWiFi-5GHz").
  • Connect the printer to MyWiFi-2.4GHz.

3. Use HP Smart App (if another device is connected)

  • Install HP Smart App on a smartphone or PC.
  • Use it to manually connect your printer to the 2.4GHz network.

4. Connect via Ethernet or USB

If Wi-Fi is unavailable, you can connect the printer via Ethernet (wired) or USB to your computer and enable Wi-Fi Direct for wireless printing.
