Hi @Barratt123,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi but not printing, try the following steps:
Step 1: Check Printer Status
- Print a Test Page: On your printer’s control panel, look for an option to print a test page. This can confirm if the printer is functioning correctly.
Step 2: Restart Devices
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart the Router: Unplug your router for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the connection.
Step 3: Check Printer Queue
- Check the Print Queue: On your computer, go to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac) and check if there are any stalled print jobs. Cancel any stuck jobs and try printing again.
Step 4: Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Reconfirm Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure your printer is still connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect it using the control panel or HP Smart app.
Step 5: Update Printer Drivers
- Update Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or use the HP Smart app.
Step 6: Set as Default Printer
- Set Default Printer: Make sure your printer is set as the default printer on your computer. Go to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac) and set it as default.
Step 7: Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor: If you're using Windows, download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix printing issues automatically.
Step 8: Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings
- Check Security Software: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings can block printing. Temporarily disable them and see if printing works.
Step 9: Reinstall the Printer
- Remove and Reinstall: As a last resort, remove the printer from your computer and then add it again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
