Hi @Skerritt2110,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing Wi-Fi connection issues with your HP DeskJet 2630 All-In-One Printer. I can help you troubleshoot the problem. Please try the following steps to resolve the issue.
- Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router and that the signal strength is strong enough for a stable connection. Move the printer closer to the router if needed.
- Restart Printer and Router: Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Similarly, power off your Wi-Fi router and disconnect it from the power source. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug in and power on both devices.
- Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings or setup menu. Look for the option to connect to a wireless network. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password, if required.
- Check Network Settings: Verify that your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are correct. If you recently changed your Wi-Fi password, you'll need to update it on the printer as well.
- Disable MAC Address Filtering: If your router has MAC address filtering enabled, temporarily disable it to see if it's causing the connection issue. You can enable it again once the printer is successfully connected.
- Update Firmware: Visit the official HP support website and search for your printer model. Look for any available firmware updates for your printer and follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
- Reset Network Settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the network settings on the printer. This will clear any saved network information and allow you to set up the Wi-Fi connection from scratch. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to reset network settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.I have been given a new hub by BT. The first one I got was around a month ago. I bring the printer down from upstairs as it’s wireless & sit it next to the router to initially connect. I’ve never had any issues before. I press the information & wireless buttons on the printer & the WPA button on the hub & they connect. However, on this occasion they just won’t connect. There are no new drivers for the printer & i am at a loss.I really don’t know what else to try. The app doesn’t help me & there isn’t any control pad on the printer for me to insert the password.

Hi @Skerritt2110,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing a connectivity issue with your hp deskjet 2630 all-in-one printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist you better:
- How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
- Do you have a dual-band router?
- If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
While you respond to that, Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware
- Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
- Click here to know different methods of updating the printer firmware.
- click here to check the video for How to Connect an HP Printer to a Wi-Fi Network with HP Smart – Windows 10, 11
If the issue persists, then please follow the below steps to resolve the issue.

- If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
- If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
Set a manual IP-
- To set a manual IP and try the steps below -
- Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address
- Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP
- then go to network ---> general ---> network protocols ---> select IPV4 only-->apply
- Go to wireless ---> wireless 802.11---> select manual ip ---> apply
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
then go to settings on the main EWS page --> power management ---> select sleep mode to max 15min
Connect the printer to the TCP/IP port
- Touch the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer and take down the IP address
- Click Start/Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP Printer. Select Printer Properties. Select the Ports tab at the top.
