I am having constant Wi-Fi connectivity issues with the blue wireless light blinking on my HP LaserJet 140 series. I have repeatedly turned off and on the router and the printer.
that did not help.
The router seems to work with my other devices just not the printer. I have AT&T with a smart home app and thought maybe the HP app was interfering so I tried using it with deleting the HP app.
That did not help.
When printing from my laptop, the printer works only when I use the printer cable directly with the USB to the laptop. It used to work with my iphone and email attachments, but no longer can connect at all.
I do have 5G which I had split and only use the 2.4 G for all my devices in the home now. I don’t know why I pay for 5G, but I have switched all of them and I made sure that all my devices are on the same 2.4 G wireless network. My iOS watch and security cams work fine with the wireless router.
Several times I have tried to restart the router and press the wireless cancel buttons at the same time. When the blinking starts, there’s an orange ! which eventually goes away, but the blue wireless blinking never stops. The app shows that I am connected to the correct HP printer, but with no connectivity. If I try searching for a printer, it says it can’t find it. I’m about ready to throw this printer out the window and it’s not that old. It’s just not working for me unless I actually plug it into an old laptop.

Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😊
Let us try to restore the printer to the default network settings, and then use HP Smart to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 1:
Restore network default settings on the printer, to do that - Use the buttons on the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.
If the printer is in sleep mode (the Ready light is on but dim), press the Cancel button to wake up the printer.
Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button
for five seconds.
Wait for the printer to restart and for the Wireless light to blink.
Within two hours, return to the app or software to find and add your printer and complete the setup.
Step 2:
Uninstall and re-install the HP Smart app on your computer/mobile device.
Place the printer and the computer or mobile device near the Wi-Fi router.
Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.
Enable Bluetooth on the computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
After installing HP Smart for iOS and Android, enable the mobile device location service and allow the app to use your location to detect the printer and offer solutions during setup.
Download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS).
In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.
