HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

The wifi icon on my printer has disappeared as well as the network reset option in the menu. I have tried turning the computer off, disconnecting from the power source, restarting from the printer menu, and factory reset. None of those activities reset the wifi and returned the icon or network menu options. I also cannot find my printer when trying to redo the setup.

Hi @meghsbenedict,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the issue with your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer might be more complex than a simple reset. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, firmware issues can cause functionality problems. Check if there's an update available for your printer's firmware. You might need to use the HP Smart app or visit the HP website to download and install the latest firmware.
  • Verify the Printer’s Status: Ensure that the printer is powered on and fully operational. If there are any error messages or indicators on the printer's display, they might provide clues about the issue.
  • Try a Different Network Setup Method: If you have not already, try setting up the printer using the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) method if your router supports it. This method can bypass the need for the Wi-Fi menu on the printer.
  • Use the HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. It might help you reconnect the printer to your network even if the Wi-Fi menu on the printer is not accessible.
  • Check Network Settings: Ensure that your router’s settings are correct and that there are no network issues. Sometimes, network issues can cause printers to not appear or connect properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
