Hi @DonnaR5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand you would like to set up your HP printer on a new Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:

Prepare for Installation:

  • Ensure that your printer is turned on and near the Wi-Fi router.
  • Connect your computer or mobile device to the new Wi-Fi network.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

  • Depending on your printer model, you may need to reset the network settings to set it up on a new network. For most HP printers, this can be done via the control panel by selecting “Setup” or “Settings”, then "Network", followed by "Restore Network Settings".

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer to the new network. During the setup process, the app will search for printers to add to the network.

Manual Wireless Setup:

For printers without a touchscreen panel, use the WPS method:

  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on your printer.

For printers with a touchscreen panel:

  • Go to “Setup” > “Network” > “Wireless Setup Wizard”.
  • Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password if prompted.

Verify Connection:

  • Print a network configuration report from your printer’s control panel to verify that the printer is successfully connected to the new network.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • It may be necessary to uninstall and reinstall the printer software on your computer to ensure it recognizes the printer on the new network.

Take care and have an amazing day!
