@Shrummy, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wireless Connection Issues on HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e printer is having trouble with its wireless connection, constantly updating the IP address, and showing an unknown status in the HP Smart app, you can follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check Your Network Connection
Restart the Printer and Devices:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your computer or mobile device.
- Restart your router by unplugging it for 15 seconds and then plugging it back in.
Ensure Proper Connected:
- Ensure the printer is not connected to your computer via a USB cable as this can interfere with the wireless setup.
- Make sure your router is operating on the 2.4 GHz band if your printer does not support the 5.0 GHz band.
Print a Network Configuration Report
- Print the Report:
- From the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings menu.
- Select the option to print a Network Configuration Report.
- Review the report for the printer's network details, including its IP address.
Set a Static IP Address
Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Enter the current IP address of your printer into a web browser’s address bar (e.g., http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).
- Log in using the administrator credentials if prompted (default username is usually admin and the password could be on the printer's label).
Configure the Network Settings:
- In the EWS, go to the Network tab.
- Select the IP Configuration option.
- Choose the manual IP option and input a static IP address.
- Enter the subnet mask and default gateway to match your network.
Save Settings:
- Make sure to apply and save the changes.
- Restart the printer to apply the new settings.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
