Hi @rms511,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand there might be an issue with the wireless hardware or its connection inside your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw printer.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Check Wireless Hardware: Ensure that the wireless hardware components are properly seated inside the printer. This may involve opening the printer and checking the connections. If you're uncomfortable doing this yourself, you may want to contact HP Phone support or a technician for assistance.
  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Reset Network Settings: You can try resetting the network settings of the printer to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, navigate through the printer's menu to find the network settings, and look for an option to reset network settings or restore defaults.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes firmware updates include fixes for connectivity issues. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website by searching for your printer model. Software and Drivers for HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw
  • Check Wireless Settings: Ensure that the wireless settings on the printer are correctly configured to connect to your wireless network. You may need to re-enter your wireless network information (SSID and password) if the settings have been cleared or reset.
