I try to reconfigure the printer through usb and HP assistant tools , I can detect the usb printer, printing too. But converting the usb printer to wifi result an error : Wifi password incorrect. The key configured on your printer is not the same as your wifi connexion .

I tried half reset  and full reset too ! Nada !  😞

Hi @YO915

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 3055A printer is having issues connecting to Wi-Fi and you’re encountering the “WiFi password incorrect” error, here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

1. Check Wi-Fi Password

  • Double-check the Password: Ensure that you’re entering the correct Wi-Fi password. It’s case-sensitive, so verify there are no typos or extra spaces.

2. Reset Network Settings

  1. Power On: Ensure the printer is on.
  2. Network Reset:
    • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button (the red X) at the same time for about 5 seconds.
    • This will reset the network settings and you will need to reconnect to your Wi-Fi.

3. Use HP Smart App for Setup

  • If you haven’t already, try using the HP Smart app:
    1. Download the HP Smart app from the HP website.
    2. Open the app and select “Add a printer”.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer wirelessly.

4. Temporary USB Connection

  • If the HP Smart app doesn’t work, you can try connecting the printer temporarily via USB:
    1. Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
    2. Open the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant.
    3. Try setting up the Wi-Fi connection again through the app.

5. Ensure Correct Wireless Configuration

  • Make sure your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router and that there are no obstructions.
  • Check if there are any settings on your router that could block the printer (like MAC address filtering).

6. Firmware Update

  • If the printer is connected via USB, check for any firmware updates through the HP software. Sometimes updates can resolve connectivity issues.

7. Factory Reset the Printer

  • If none of the above works, you might consider a factory reset:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
    3. Plug it back in and turn it on.
    4. Check the printer manual for specific instructions to perform a factory reset if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
