Unable to connect printer to wifi. HP bumped my printer offline after card was hacked. Despite renewing Ink subscription with new card, I have been unable to get printer to connect to my wi-fi. Tried everything they suggested.

Hi @Thunderwonder,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Let's try a few steps to reconnect your HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer to your Wi-Fi network. Please follow these steps:

Step 1: Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  1. Turn on the Printer: Ensure your printer is powered on.
  2. Restore Network Settings:
    • On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Cancel button simultaneously and hold them for three seconds.
    • This should restore the printer's network settings to their default state.

Step 2: Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Download HP Smart App:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device. You can download it from the HP Smart app page.

Open HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app and sign in or create an account if necessary.

Set Up a New Printer:

  • Click on the Add Printer or the plus sign (+).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer. The app will search for printers in setup mode.

Connect to Wi-Fi:

  • When prompted, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password.

Step 3: Verify Connectivity

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page:
    • On the printer control panel, press the Information button to print a network configuration page.
    • Check the details to ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 4: Troubleshooting Additional Issues

Ensure Wi-Fi Signal Strength:

  • Ensure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Avoid placing the printer too far from the router or in an area with many obstructions.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, computer, and router to refresh their network connections.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer that might be blocking the printer from connecting to the network.

Step 5: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
    • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or on the HP support website.

Step 6: Factory Reset (If Necessary)

If all else fails, performing a factory reset on the printer might help:

  1. Factory Reset:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Settings.
    • Find Printer Maintenance or Service, then select Restore Defaults.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

Thank you for the attempt.  Step 1 does not work for me. I press the wireless button and the cancel button simultaneously for 3-4 seconds, and all that happens is the wi-fi light blinks a few times, then the Info button blinks. I've tried this many times over the past few weeks. I've also rebooted wi-fi, computer, printer, everything.
