I recently changed office buildings. In my prior location the printer was working fine.
In the new location I can connect to WiFi, and have done so to two different WiFi networks here. In both cases the printer connects to WiFi, but says that it is not connected to the Internet. In both cases my computer is able to connect to the WiFi and has Internet access, so I know that there is Internet service on both routers.
Thus, here I sit with a non-usable printer.
I have tried rebooting the printer to no avail. It is plugged directly into the wall.
Help please.

@GregBCLT, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer connects to Wi-Fi but still shows “No Internet,” especially after moving to a new office. Let’s walk through some steps to get your HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e back online and printing smoothly.
Restart Network Devices
- Power off your printer, router, and computer.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Power on the router first, then the printer, and finally your computer.
Check Printer’s IP Address
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Settings > Wi-Fi Summary.
- Note the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.105).
- On your computer, open a browser and enter that IP to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- If it loads, the printer is on the network.
Check DNS Settings
Sometimes printers fail to reach the internet due to incorrect DNS settings.
- In the EWS, go to Network > Advanced Settings.
- Set Manual DNS:
- Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
- Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
- Save and restart the printer.
Update Printer Firmware
If the printer can’t access the internet, update firmware manually:
- Visit: Official HP® Support
- Search for HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e.
- Download and install the latest firmware using a USB connection.
Disable Smart Network Switching (if applicable)
If you're using a dual-band router or mesh network:
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same band (2.4GHz is more stable for printers).
- Disable any "Smart Connect" or "Band Steering" features temporarily.
Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect using Wireless Setup Wizard.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
