HP OfficeJet 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One
macOS 12.0 Monterey

HP Officejet 7612 has a printhead issue, which I was unable to get fixed so had to buy another printer.

This issue is always highlighted when starting printer/scanner.

Of course the scanner could still be used, but wi-fi password changed since last used and cannot connect via wi-fi, although have brought from where it is located to wire to Mac and it works... BUT can the wi-fi be accepted?

As I cannot see the start up screen with options for wi-fi shown, because of printhead error, how do I connect?

Use scanner rarely but need wi-fi connection, to save lifting this heavy printer/scanner to move next to Mac to wire it in.

Look forward to any helpful advice, thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help.

Let's reset the network settings:

To reset the printer network settings, complete the following steps: 1. On the printer control panel, touch (Wireless), and then touch Settings . Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes . A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored. 2. On the printer control panel, touch (Wireless), touch Settings , and then touch Print Network & configuration to print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.

Once done, connect the Printer to the Wi-Fi.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Unfortunately I cannot see anything on control panel but the 'error message' relating to print head. So cannot get to Wireless screen.

If I could somehow bypass this error message, then I could possibly  proceed, if not I'm kind of stuck.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

  1. Reset the product
    1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
    2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
    6. Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  2. Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

I have attempted what you suggest, I brought printer/scanner from room it's located into room where computer currently located, using different socket to plug in without any change to what I'm seeing on screen i.e. print head error.

As stated I then proceeded to plug printer/scanner directly into computer (wired) to actually use scanner.

Still unable to use scanner wirelessly, because of the constant onscreen error message.

Hope there are other options to try.

Thanks for your assistance.
